Jean-Jacques Boulo
also Monsieur Boulo
Birthplace: Toulouse, Kingdom of France
Jean-Jacques Boulo was a tenor from Toulouse who sang at the Opéra-Comique before joining the Paris Opéra as its light tenor from 1853 to 1859, where he created Daniéli in Les vêpres siciliennes in 1855. A Paris critic of the 1850s found the voice faulty and placed in the throat, but with an oboe-like sound that could carry a romance with real charm. He was a member of the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire from 1857, and died in Toulouse.
