Abigaille Bruschi-Chiatti

Abigaille Bruschi-Chiatti was an Italian soprano who created Élisabeth de Valois at the Italian premiere of the revised Don Carlos. Trained in Arezzo and Florence's Regio Istituto Musicale, she built a reputation as Aida from 1877, then created the title role of Bottesini's Ero e Leandro, Sulamith in Goldmark's Die Königin von Saba, and Amelia di Egmont in the 1882 posthumous premiere of Donizetti's Il duca d'Alba. At La Scala in 1884 she sang Elisabetta di Valois opposite Francesco Tamagno. She toured South America and Madrid before illness ended a Rome engagement in 1888; nothing further is recorded of her.
