Jack Carr
Jack Carr was an American actor and singer who worked steadily in the Black-cast Broadway of the 1930s and 1940s, in thirteen productions between 1933 and 1951. He created Jim in Porgy and Bess and sang the part again in the 1942 revival, was Sergeant Brown in Carmen Jones through its original run and both its revivals, and appeared in Run, Little Chillun, Africana and, last, The Green Pastures.
