Leopoldo Cromberg

b. 1845 · Italian · bass

Leopoldo Cromberg was an Italian bass and later artistic director who created Un moine in the 1884 Milan Don Carlo. He sang Nourabad in Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles at the Regio in 1890–91, and was still performing as late as 1896, in La bohème at Rome's Teatro Costanzi. In 1903 he recorded excerpts from Faust, La sonnambula and Simon Boccanegra for the Gramophone & Typewriter label in Milan. Little else has been found of his career.
