Henry Davis was an American stage actor and singer whose Broadway career ran from 1900 to 1942. He sang Robbins in the first Porgy and Bess and came back to the part in every Broadway revival of the work in his lifetime, in 1942, 1943 and 1944. Around those are credits of the kind the Black Broadway of the period offered: the ensemble of a Show Boat revival, Hot Pepper Henry in Change Your Luck, a choir member in Virginia.
