Felicie Hüni-Mihacsek

Felicie Hüni-Mihacsek was a Hungarian coloratura soprano who studied in Vienna with Rose Papier. She made her stage debut in 1916 at the Hamburg State Opera, then joined the Vienna State Opera in 1918, debuting there as Woglinde in Das Rheingold; she created the Voice of the Falcon in the premiere of Strauss's Die Frau ohne Schatten in 1919. She moved to the Munich State Opera in 1925, remaining until 1945, sang regularly at the Salzburg Festival until 1949, and created a role in Pfitzner's Das Herz in Munich in 1931. Her repertoire centred on Mozart, including Konstanze, Donna Anna and the Queen of the Night, and she later taught voice, her students including Christa Ludwig. She gave a farewell performance as the Marschallin in Munich in 1953.
