Birthplace: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Frank Lendor is a Dominican bass, and a graduate of the National Conservatory of Music in Santo Domingo. He joined the National Choir at its founding in 1955 and sang with it for decades, also appearing with the Lyric Singers of the Directorate General of Fine Arts and as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra. In 1992 he created Padre Boil in Antonio Braga's 1492 epopea lirica d'America at the Teatro Nacional. Singing was one occupation among several: he trained as a lawyer, worked as a journalist and broadcaster, and acted in films.
