Burton McEvilly

Burton McEvilly was an American actor whose Broadway career ran from 1925 to 1948. He began in the choruses of Rodgers and Hart's Dearest Enemy and Gershwin's Oh, Kay!, took the Ghost in a 1931 Hamlet and small parts in Lysistrata, Volpone and Maugham's The Letter, and was one of the two policemen in the first Porgy and Bess. From 1936 he worked mainly behind the stage, as assistant stage manager on White Horse Inn and Virginia and as stage director of Howdy, Mr. Ice in 1948.
