Georg Müller

Georg Müller was a German tenor who spent twenty-nine years in the Vienna Court Opera ensemble. Born in Frankfurt am Main and trained there, he made his debut at the Stadttheater Bremen before Vienna engaged him in 1868. He created Don José at the house's 1875 Carmen and held the part for more than twenty years, singing it 98 times, and was heard as Radames, Lohengrin, Manrico, Walther von Stolzing and Raoul in Les Huguenots. He was appointed k.k. Kammersänger in 1888 and retired in 1897, the house making him an honorary member.
