Georg Nollet

Georg Nollet was a German baritone who created Biterolf in the Vienna Court Opera's 1875 Tannhäuser and Moralès in its Carmen the same year, during a brief spell in the ensemble. Trained under Karl Ludwig Fischer, he made his debut in Mainz and sang in Schwerin, Leipzig and Pest before reaching Hannover and, briefly, Vienna, where Wagner himself coached him in Wolfram and Telramund. He returned to Hannover in 1876 and remained there until 1894, singing Don Giovanni, the Flying Dutchman, Wotan, Figaro and the title role of Marschner's Hans Heiling. Nervous illness ended his career.
