Francesco Rossi
Francesco Rossi was an Italian tenor in secondary roles, one of several singers of the name in the 1840s. He worked chiefly for the impresario Alessandro Lanari, at Florence, Livorno, Pisa and Lucca, with seasons at La Fenice in Venice in 1844 and 1845, and at Reggio Emilia, Forlì and Mantua. At the Teatro della Pergola in Florence, where he was the company's second tenor, he sang Iago in Ernani in 1844 and Uldino in Attila in 1846, and in 1847 created Malcolm in Macbeth. He was still singing at Pisa in the early 1850s.
