Sigrid Rothermel was a German contralto, a concert singer in Karlsruhe by 1925, who joined the Dresden State Opera ensemble in March 1928. There she created both the Second Servant and the Fourth Elf in the premiere of Strauss's Die ägyptische Helena, and sang Bersi in Andrea Chénier, the Page in Tannhäuser and Curra in La forza del destino. In 1941 and 1942 she sang Azucena and Amneris at the municipal theatres of Kattowitz and Königshütte in annexed Polish Upper Silesia. She returned to Karlsruhe after the war, and sang the Housekeeper in Die schweigsame Frau in Munich in 1947.
