Laura Saini

mezzo-soprano

A singer of the Venice theatres from 1842, who created Giovanna in Ernani at La Fenice in 1844 and Giovanna in Rigoletto there in 1851. In Venice she took the secondary parts, among them Anna in Nabucco, Viclinda in I Lombardi and Clotilde in Norma, and sang in the premieres of Ferrari's Ultimi giorni di Suli in 1843, Levi's Giuditta in 1844 and Malipiero's Attila in 1845. Her career ran from Verona in 1832 to the Teatro Apollo in Venice in 1868.
