Pamela Scotti

also Pamela Scotti-Caracciolo

Italian · soprano

Pamela Scotti was an Italian soprano who created Oscar in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera at the Teatro Apollo in Rome in 1859. A pupil of Alfonso Guercia, she made her debut at Bari in 1854 in Petrella's Elena di Tolosa. In the royal theatres of Naples she sang Orietta in Orietta di Lesbo, Verdi's Giovanna d'Arco retitled, in 1855, and created Maria di Savoja in Moscuzza's Carlo Gonzaga at the Teatro di San Carlo in 1857. She sang at La Fenice that autumn. She is probably the Pamela Scotti-Caracciolo who sang Elvira in Ernani in Milan in 1873.
