Danilo Serraiocco

Danilo Serraiocco is an Italian bass who trained as both violinist and singer at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He won the "A. Belli" competition at the Teatro Sperimentale in Spoleto in 1987 and made his debut there, and later studied with Paolo Montarsolo. He created Don Cristóbal Colón in Antonio Braga's 1492 epopea lirica d'America in Santo Domingo in 1992. He has sung at La Scala, the San Carlo in Naples, the Rome Opera and the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and abroad in Miami and Frankfurt, under Muti, Mehta and Slatkin.
