Heinrich Tessmer

Heinrich Tessmer was a German tenor and Kammersänger, the son of the musician Max Robert Tessmer, who trained at the Königliche Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. After service in the First World War he turned fully to singing, joining the Dresden State Opera ensemble in 1923 and remaining a member for the rest of his career, also appearing as a guest in London, Paris and Amsterdam. He created the Second Shepherd in the premiere of Strauss's Daphne in 1938.
