Mervin Wallace
Mervin Wallace was an American singer who sang Peter, the honey man, in Houston Grand Opera's 1976 Porgy and Bess, the staging that restored the score to something close to complete, and went with the production to Broadway that autumn. He was still singing the part nine years later, and made his Metropolitan Opera debut in it on 6 February 1985, when that company staged the opera for the first time under James Levine.
