Josias Priest's Boarding School for Girls

Not a theatre. Priest was a dancing master who ran a girls' school in Chelsea, then a village outside London, and the 1689 libretto of Dido and Aeneas places the performance there. If the case for an earlier court performance is right, this is not the premiere venue at all. The building opened in 1680, when Priest moved the school there from Leicester Fields; when it ceased to be used is not established here.
